About the Programme
The National Mark of MALAYSIAN BRAND certification programme, developed by SME Corp. Malaysia in collaboration with SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd., is dedicated to elevating Malaysian brands to meet global quality standards. By adhering to rigorous criteria, participating organisations earn the prestigious right to display this mark on their products and communications, symbolising excellence, quality, and government endorsement.
This initiative not only strengthens brand equity but also enhances competitiveness in international markets. Launched in 2009, the program provides additional benefits, including trade promotions and expert assistance, further driving the growth and recognition of Malaysian brands on the global stage.
Rationale Behind The Mark
The emblem or mark that represents the National Mark of MALAYSIAN BRAND is depicted in the form of a circular seal to communicate that the mark represents a ‘certification’ or ‘endorsement’ for the brand that it is associated with.

Rationale Behind The Mark
The emblem or mark that represents the National Mark of MALAYSIAN BRAND is depicted in the form of a circular seal to communicate that the mark represents a ‘certification’ or ‘endorsement’ for the brand that it is associated with.
The mark contains a series of several rings – each contain separate information and have a role to play in communicating the essence of the mark and what it stands for. The outer ring appears in red and has a toothed edge, similar to the seals that are used in contracts and official documents. This provides a sense of authority in the endorsement that the mark offers.
In the background behind the graphic representation of the national flower are a number of shapes in a lighter tone. It serves to provide the mark with a sense of depth and texture and symbolizes the large variety of products and services that are endorsed by the National Mark of MALAYSIAN BRAND.
On the next ring, the words ‘MALAYSIAN BRAND’ appears in bold, in a large stylized font and on a white background to make it easy to read. This clearly communicates the name of the mark. Also on this ring appear the words ’Quality’, ’Excellence’ and ’Distinction’ – being the three main elements found in any product or service that the mark is endorsing.
In its entirety, the combination of graphic elements and colours represent a distinctly Malaysian mark that is international in standard and global in appeal. It is specifically designed to stand out, yet compliment any packaging or marketing communications.
Within the innermost ring, appears an abstract graphic representation of the Malaysian National flower: the ’Bunga Raya’ or Hibiscus. Stylized graphic lines shape the petals and stamen of the flower. These lines also form the letters ’M’, ’S’, ’I’ and ’A’. These letters spell out ’Msia’, which is a popular abbreviation for ’Malaysia’.
